  • APP HAS QUIT WORKING!!

For several months now, the app hasn’t worked!! Any where I click from the home screen gives me an error message of “Server Unavailable - Please Try Again Later”. Just as aggravating is when I click on “Matches” it tells me that I’ve chosen NOT to see my DNA matches. Huh?!?!? Yes! I’ve chosen to see my DNA matches and WAS able to see my DNA matches on this app now ironically called “ancestryDNA”. Yes, I’ve deleted and downloaded the app but it didn’t fix the problem.
  • No improvement

I’m going back to the original app. The way the matches are displayed is terrible. No cM’s listed, just tiny photos or initials. It helps to know if your matches are 5 cM, 25 cM, etc. without having to click on every match especially the distant cousins.
  • Not worth the money

This app/service has a lot less detailed information about ethnicity and region than 23andMe and they want you to pay extra for the traits component. Extremely disappointing.
  • What the hell is taking so long?

I mailed in my DNA kit on June 23rd and the last I heard from you guys was on July 5th saying my sample was received it’s now September 14th and I haven’t heard anything. I called support and they said it shouldn’t have taken this long they said they would do something but they haven’t now I’m out over $100. DON’T BUY ITS A WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I am happy to discover that diversity of ethnic origins keeps improving. I am learning more and more about my predecessors.

  • Confusing . . .

I find this Ancestry website confusing. I joined up, paid send spit in and received a list of what I am made up of. OK Trying to connect family and make a tree I found exciting and fun, until it al started to go wrong. I think I used wrong names to begin with (like my Moms current name and not her born with name). And can’t see how to fix it, nor delete it. There was no instruction on HOW to add people with several names, (like my Mom who had her born with name, her married name, and then a name she took for herself). I see no way to alter or fix things and now it’s a mess - think my Dad is on there at least 2 times maybe more. Now I see there is an App for AncestryDNA- is that different than what I have been using? Is it just for family tree making? This is frustrating and NOT USER FRIENDLY! ~ Darcy Snell, Keeling, Starr

I signed up and received minimal information I guess it’s my bad. I had no idea there is charge after additional cost for more detailed information. I received information on 2nd 3rd and 4th cousins. I’m trying to locate any relatives of my fathers origin in Hungary and it sends out teasers. FOR ADDITIONAL COST WHICH IS NOT INEXPENSIVE.
