Description

Skype keeps the world talking. Say “hello” with an instant message, voice or video call – all for free*, no matter what device they use Skype on. Skype is available on phones, tablets, PCs, and Macs. • Video calls – Don’t just hear the cheers, see them! Get together with 1 or 24 of your friends and family on a HD video call. Watch everyone’s smiles and cries when you tell them “We’re engaged!!!"  • Chat – Reach people instantly. Send messages to your friends, grab someone’s attention with @ mentions, or create a group chat to plan a family reunion.  • Share – Send photos and videos with your family and friends. Save shared photos and videos to your camera roll. Share your screen to make travel plans with friends or present designs to your team. • Voice calls – Camera shy? Make voice calls to anyone in the world on Skype. You can also call mobile and landlines at low rates. • Express yourself – Liven up conversations with emoticons, click on the “+” in chat to send a Giphy or images from the web, and annotate images with words, lines and more. *Skype to Skype calls are free. Operator data charges may apply. We recommend using an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection.

  • Recent international call show up with US country code

Most of my Skype calls are to Belgium where my elderly mother lives. You would think that every time I call her I could simply go to “recent calls” and press the most recently called number. But unfortunately, the recent calls list the number with the country code “+1” before the Belgium number. I don’t know why this happens and I can’t recall doing that two years ago. So now I have to keep punching in the number every time (every day) I call that number. By the way, for the past 2 weeks it is listed without the US prefix under my recently called numbers but in sixth place. That’s an improvement at least. But as soon as I dial another number gets bumped back down. Please fix!

I’ve been using Skype for over 13 years so while they have had ups and downs they have been the longest consistent online phone service I have ever used. They have been such a great help in communicating to family and friends all over the world. Gotta have it.

I used to use Skype a lot, but lately whenever I try to send an image through chat, the app usually closes on me. My iPhone has plenty of space, and I don’t have this issue with any other app. I hardly use Skype anymore because of this.

If phone is locked and you swipe to answer , you can no longer put it on speaker phone until phone is unlocked. Once unlocked you must open and minimize app twice before speaker will work. Most of the time you have to end the call and call back in order to get speakerphone after unlocking. Please fix !!!!

I use Skype on 3 continents, and I am generally happy. Quality depends on internet speed, so the worst is in the U.S. in Australia and Vietnam superior internet makes a difference. Only disappointment, it will ring for incoming calls on an Android device, but not on an iPad. I think Apple does it to try to force you to use FaceTime.

As a father with a daughter who’s main way to communicate with me is through Skype. I have an Apple iPhone X. She uses a Samsung Android tablet. When she calls me, it goes straight through. When I call her it will NEVER connect. This being my only way to talk to her makes me very very very frustrated and am looking for better options.

I have been using this app for OVER A DECADE and had ZERO problems UNTIL microsoft took over. The app has recently become so frikkin' painful to use it's not worth the trouble. REFUSES to update. What a pain. I have the latest iOS and have closed the app. NOPE, STILL not updating.
